1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife,Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You'regetting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and heresponded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, youcunt."

The Olympic flame was extinguished today in Paris and the route disrupted. Originally, I was against the boycot of the games in China because the people of Tibet would suffer the consequences, but I’ve since changed my mind. The protests in England and now Paris are alerting the world to the abuses by the Chinese government – not just to the people of Tibet, but to the general population.

There was a story about Chinese investment in the U.S. on 60 minutes last night. They have 100s of bi...

This is the flag of the republican party:

As you can see, there are three pentagrams with two points up.

Satanistsuse a pentagram with two points up, often inscribed in a double circle, with the head of a goat inside the pentagram. This is referred to asthe Sigil of Baphomet. They use it much the same way as the Pythagoreans, as Tartarosliterally translates from Greek as a "Pit" or "Void" in Christianterminology (the word is used as such in the Bible, referring to theplace where the ...

Amazon came out with their Kindle e-book reading device several months ago. The price is $399 and they can't keep up with the demand. There's a waiting list to purchase them! So why aren't other companies coming out with comparable readers?

The Kindle has features that I don't need. I don't need the wireless access or even a keyboard for that matter. I just want to be able to read articles and e-books without having to sit in front of a computer. It's not that big of deal to hook up a cable t...

I'm listening to John McCain speaking about the housing situation. The current "crisis" is due to housing speculator driving up the price of homes and creating a bubble. It is also due to irresponsible lending practices and people who got into homes they couldn't afford. All bubbles eventually burst as did the dot-com stock market bubble of the 90s and as the economy is currently experiencing in the housing market.

Home prices are falling because they're over-priced and this is merely a price...

Supplier Under Scrutiny on Aging Arms for Afghans

Since 2006, when the insurgency in Afghanistan sharply intensified, the Afghan government has been dependent on American logistics and military support in the war against Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

But to arm the Afghan forces that it hopes will lead this fight, the American military has relied since early last year on a fledgling company led by a 22-year-old man whose vice president was a licensed masseur.

With the award last January of...

In Buddhism it is said that the Noble Eightfold path is the way to eliminate suffering in life. The first two elements of the Noble Eightfold Path have to do with wisdom: Right View and Right Intention.

Right View is sometimes called right understanding. It’s seeing things as they are – not through biases or misinformation. The Buddha taught Right View in terms of the practice of Mindfulness, but it applies to everything. To make good decisions in life requires understanding of the factors in...

Waiting...

My new Samsung 52” LED DLP HDTV is awaiting pickup at FedEx but it won’t fit in my Accord and my wife has the SUV. It’s been some six months since I started looking at HD TVs. It was tough for me to fathum shelling out over $1000 for a TV. After probably a dozen trips to Best Buy, Circuit City, Sears, and a few other stores, I still had a hard time justifying the cost. All the models I wanted were over $2000 and it seemed like all of them, when you watched fast motion, looked horri...

Economy Lost 63,000 Jobs in FebruaryThe economy shed 63,000 jobs in February, the government said on Friday, the fastest falloff in five years and the strongest evidence yet that the nation is headed toward — or may already be in — a recession.Manufacturers and construction companies, reeling from the worst housing slump in decades, led the declines in payrolls. But the losses were spread across a broad range of businesses — including department stores, offices and retail outlets — putting incre...

Foreclosures reached an all-time high during the fourth quarter of last year as the mortgage crisis worsened, according to Mortgage Bankers Association data released today. During the quarter, 2.04 percent of all outstanding mortgages were in foreclosure, and .83 percent of loans entered the foreclosure process, according to the report. A year earlier, just 1.19 percent of loans were in foreclosure. This is what happens when the government deregulates industries. In the 80s, we saw the collapse (...
